Nancy Mazzeo, Webmaster
Board Member of A Place of Learning, Brentwood since 2022
I am the daughter of Danish Immigrants and grew up in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz
Mountains. My siblings were born in Denmark and when the family moved here, my father
said, “we live in America now so we need to learn English.” I have four grown children and
3 granddaughters. I recently retired from the Department of Transportation where I worked
for almost 22 years. I started as a Structural Steel Painter Apprentice, obtained my
Journeyman card, and painted the Bay Area bridges for 5 years. I Transferred to the Division
of Right of Way and rotated to all the functions, eventually promoting to Chief of Acquisitions,
Condemnation and Real Property Services. My time served with the State was always an
adventure and an opportunity to learn new things. As a recent retiree, I spend most of my
time volunteering, attending church and visiting my Oregon family. I plan on taking some trips
to faraway places as well.
